In the ADVANCED SETTINGS page, enter the Upgrade Server’s IP address or FQDN in the “Firmware Server Path” field. During this stage, the LCD will display the firmware file downloading process.

If a firmware upgrade fails for any reason (e.g., TFTP/HTTP server is not responding, there are no code image files available for upgrade, or checksum test fails, etc), the phone will stop the upgrading process and minutes over the Internet.

The IP address will be located on that informational page. Once you've logged in, you should see a page with the following heading. For most setups, you will need to simply configure "Account 1".

There is a known issue with Grandstream phones that have the recent 1.1 beta firmware loaded.

These phones start experiencing large gaps of audio in the case of a dropped packet (conversely, most phones simply gloss over a single dropped packet). Grandstream now allows public download of documentation and software at: following instructions assume your phone has successfully booted and completed network configuration including obtaining valid IP addresses for itself, an IP gateway and DNS servers either via DHCP, manual or other means (refer to your phone's documentation) and that your phone is running with factory defaults.

Grandstream recommends completing firmware upgrades in a controlled LAN environment whenever possible.

For users who do not have a local TFTP/HTTP server, Grandstream provides a HTTP server on the public Internet for users to download the latest firmware upgrade automatically.

When your phone is powered on and connected to your LAN, use a browser to navigate to the IP address of your phone.

To locate the IP address of your phone, select "Menu" and then "Status".

Under this sub Menu, user can edit Upgrade Server in either an IP address format or FQDN format. Select “Reboot” from the Main Menu to reboot the phone.
